STATE ROAD (SR 52) REALIGNMENT VIRTUAL PUBLIC HEARING (VPH)

District: Seven

Meeting Type: Hearing

Date: Tuesday, February 13, 2018

Time: 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Location Name: St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Parish Center, 32852 Rhode Island

Avenue, San Antonio, FL, 33576

Street Address: 32852 Rhode Island Avenue, San Antonio, FL, 33576

Purpose:

This public hearing is conducted to afford affected property and business owners, interested persons and organizations the opportunity to provide comments to FDOT regarding the proposed access changes and median openings for the SR 52 realignment from Urdaco Place to east of Fort King Road, Pasco County, Federal Project Number (FPN): 435142-1. The realignment of SR 52 is proposed as a new four-lane urban divided roadway within Pasco County, Florida, that will serve as an additional east-west route in the regional transportation network. Existing SR 52 will be widened from Uradco Place, east, to the approximate location of the Piney Grove Baptist Church. At that point, the four-lane divided roadway will be constructed on new alignment, south of existing SR 52, to Curley Road (County Road [CR] 577). At Curley Road, the alignment continues east along McCabe Road, as a four-lane divided facility, for approximately 1.4 miles. The roadway then transitions north, on new alignment to avoid Williams Cemetery, and aligns with existing Clinton Avenue at Prospect Road (CR 579A). The alignment will widen existing Clinton Avenue to a four-lane divided facility from Prospect Road to Fort King Road. Upon construction of the roadway, it will be designated SR 52. Existing SR 52 from just east of Bayou Branch Canal to US 301 will become CR 52, under the jurisdiction of Pasco County.

This VPH for the SR 52 realignment will focus on the proposed median modifications on existing SR 52 within the limits described above. Additionally, the new proposed median openings on the widened portions of McCabe Road and Clinton Avenue will also be addressed. This VPH is held pursuant to Chapters 120, 335.18 and 335.199, Florida Statutes. FDOT will receive verbal comments at each VPH viewing location and on line from registered webinar participants. Written comments may also be submitted at the VPH viewing location.
